Home / Our Expertise / Anorectal / Pilonidal Sinus
It is an abnormal tract with only one opening and is located over the gluteal cleft region, resulting from the entry of body hair.
These tracts or sinus begin to discharge pus. Conservative management is difficult as the causative factor (the tuft of hair) is not removed.
Hence surgery is the only positive treatment modality which may either be complete surgical excision followed by Kshara karma, and the wound is allowed to heal with the help of daily dressing.
The other modality would be the use of ksharasutra, which gradually cleanses the tracts and cures the disease
Medicines are prescribed by the doctor after a thorough examination of the patient. Treatments must be done under the supervision or advice of a certified Ayurvedic Doctor and not based on self-judgment.
